What's Good This Season

W E L C O M I N G // S E P T E M B E R

Dear Reader,

It felt like August when by in a blink. In case you missed it on Instagram, we had such a fabulous time exploring so many incredible businesses on the mainland in Vancouver, Whistler & Squamish. There’s something special about being able to travel and still get to peek our heads into the local businesses and lives from communities all over… and getting to capture these really rad stories! In case you missed it, explore it all here.

September brings FALL! Growing up in a dessert, I never experienced fall… which is a weird concept after living on the island for almost a decade. Fall was something we watched on television and we drank Pumpkin Spice Lattes trying to dream of what it would be like.

In high school, my mom took me on a trip to go see fall. I had never experienced anything like it before. So simple, and yet, to see it in person, to feel it in person, was magic. Leaves! I was so excited about leaves on the ground and in all different sizes, colours, and textures.

Fall is still a magical time for me ~ a time when colour reappears in new and beautiful ways, warmth grows as we bring forth cinnamon from the spice cabinet, candles from the cupboard, and blankets from the bin. It is a cozy time, which always equated for me as a healing time.

Plus, it’s finally soup season!!!

Thanks for being here & thanks for being What’s Good.

~ What’s Good Monthly Forecast //
S E P T E M B E R ~

September brings fresh starts, good fortune, botanical concoctions and piles of leaves for you to jump or casually stomp/run through.

September is back to school for many, but even for those who are just on the ol’ daily work grind ~ there is a sense of new starts.

Now is the time to make those lists, get your space organized, and rejuvenate that feeling of momentum again. I dare you to sit for 15 minutes and make a lil’ list of short term goals (1 month out) and long term goals (4 months out). As a season that reminds me so much of flora & fauna, think about ways in which you’d like to grow.

Vibes: terracotta, pumpkin spice everything, changing leaves, warm tea, deep thoughts.

From Sam’s Brain

September offers a time of hope it seems ~ almost like a New Year’s Eve at the end of summertime, there is opportunity for a new goal of self improvement in some capacity. I’m excited to say that I will be taking the stage this year at ~The Onion: A Gala for Weirdos~ which is something that most certainly feels uncomfortable… but in a way that is daring me to be courageous, creative, and to step out of my comfort zone. I hope you put something funky on and come play with all the incredible performers this weekend!
